Lucy Gibson

Principal

Lucy has been dancing since the age of 3, knowing then that it was something she wanted to do. She has completed all IDTA examinations in Latin, Ballroom, Freestyle, Disco and Rock N Roll. Lucy has also competed in various Latin competitions nationwide.When Lucy stopped competing she started to train to become a professional dance teacher passing her first exam in 2005, and became a qualified IDTA dance teacher in 2008.

At Gibsons Dance Academy, each pupil is considered an individual and given equal and every opportunity to fulfill their dreams, whether it’s taking part in a school examination or competing in nationwide competition.The extremely high standard and reputation of the academy has enabled Lucy to attract pupils from a variety of different areas and not only welcomes children, but adults too and caters for those that would like to pursue a career in the dance world, and for those who just want to have fun.Lucy has pushed herself to build on her qualifications with lots of hard work and determination so that she can pass on her dance knowledge and experience to all her pupils.

Megan Hayes

Teacher

Megan has been attending Gibson’s Dance Academy for 9 years, teaching for 5 years and has been a part of 5 showcases which gave her the experience to take forward to her future career.

Megan found a big boost in pursuing her dance teaching career when leaving high school with 13 GCSE’s and went onto study BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Musical Theatre at The Manchester College, and last year graduated at Liverpool John Moore’s University with a BA (Hons) Dance Practices degree.

Whilst studying Megan has performed as a dancer and cast member in many musicals including, We Will Rock You , Les Miserable and Ghost the Musical.

Megan really enjoys teaching at Gibson’s Dance Academy. She loves to see her pupils excited to learn new techniques, gain knowledge, have fun and make new friends. Megan’s aim is to inspire her pupils to enjoy and connect with dance.

Abi Beeley Braddock

Teacher

Abi has been teaching a variety of classes including Tap, Ballet, Jazz & Cheer at Gibsons Dance Academy since August 2015. Since the age of 3 Abi has attended various professional dance schools, and colleges, completing examinations to get her to where she is today. She has performed at big events such as ‘Manchester Fashion Week’ and has modelled for major dance brands such as ‘Roch Valley’.

In the last 5 years she has worked independently in Schools, Colleges and Private Education, teaching Dance, Cheer and Sports to students of all ages and abilities. Abi also is a lover of fitness and has taught adult dance fitness classes in gyms across Greater Manchester.

Abis aim is to provide a fun and exciting learning experience for all her students, by passing on her knowledge she has gained from education and experience.
